Nearby is Old Trafford Cricket Ground, home of the Lancashire cricket club since 1864. HM prison Manchester (formerly 'Strangeways'), is a grade II listed building which cost £170,000 to build. Its walls are rumoured to be 16ft thick. You will also see the former set used to film Coronation Street at the Granada Studios . Before heading back to Barton, listen-in on the radio to hear Air Traffic Control at Manchester Airport - the busiest outside London.
